Skiing Holidays in Grand Massif

About Skiing in Grand Massif

Imagine skiing or boarding from a village towering at 2120 m all the way down to another at 700m, with uninterrupted views of Mont Blanc all the way. In the best snow conditions at the Grand Massif ski area, this run is mind-blowing. One of the biggest snow playgrounds in France, le Grand Massif is made up of 5 fully-linked resorts: Samoens, Les Carroz d'Araches, Morillon, Sixt-fer-a-Cheval and Flaine. The rolling valleys have a massive variety of piste (over 265 km!), off-piste, scenery and good skiing in all conditions. All of the villages are unique - Flaine is larger with more of an urban atmosphere, while the other villages are pretty, traditional Savoyard towns which will make you feel like you have really got away from it all.

They are some of the quieter resorts in terms of après-ski and partying, although there is a lot to do and some good bars on offer. This makes Grand Massif great for families and those wanting to relax. Another huge bonus is the lack of crowds. Beginner and intermediate skiers will be in heaven here, with much of the runs geared to this level. Skilled shredders don't miss out though - there are 15 black runs plus great off-piste, varied terrain, a half pipe and snow park to keep them happy.

The five linked villages offer a more refined ski experience with a tranquil atmosphere and a large array of snow activities. Concert halls, historical villages and a beautiful setting make Le Grand Massif an ideal choice for those who prefer more of a cultural experience.
